First of all there would be no one at the reception and I needed to wait for almost 30mins to see some one at the reception. The staff / people over there dosen`t know english and they speak only french. I needed to wait for 1hr just to check out from the hotel. -Arun
We arrived late in the evening and rang the bell a couple of times. The staff who answer the door after 20 minutes not only yield at us but insulted us. It seems he was not informed about our reservation. I would never go back to this hotel.
Price and location
Horrid place, shouldn't be listed on Booked.net. Very dirty ( especially the shared bathrooms, where the doors don't even close), ridiculuosly unfriendly, our room looked quite scary and was freezingly cold - I had to sleep with my clothes on- luckily, just for one night. Also, VERY noisy. Dreadful experience!
New bathroom, clean room
Advertised as close to Gare de Lyon - totally misleading. No receptionist, i.e. no receipt the next morning, still didn't get it. I would not book it again.
Nothing much - bedding and towels were clean
Shabby, in poor state of repair.
The amount of noise you hear within your room. The fact that I need a physical key to enter my room and the enter the building. How small the room is. The shower doesn't function correctly. My pillows were dirty.
The concierge tried to help at all times, including, 'you can smoke, it is good' whilst coughing away. He was a nice man.
The bed was like as if an elephant had slept in it, thus sleeping banana shaped for 2 nights wasn't much fun.
Good location and cleaneess.
The boss owe me 2 euros and refuse to give it to me before I depart.
Room and share bathroom were very clean.
Furniture and facilities were bare minimum. Wifi did not work in the room. Rooms facing the street were very noisy well into the night. It was hot but there no fans or aircon. We often had to wait to use bathroom facilities as there were not enough. We needed to catch two different metro lines to get there from the nearest train station. It did not seem good value for money.
Gossec Hotel is a small but friendly place.. its not a 5 stars hotel so dont think about comfort. İf you are in Paris for a short time, you can choose Gossec because its so cheap for its loction. the hotel is close to a metro station and with the metro you can go everywhere in Paris easily... even if the comfort is not a reference for the Gossec Hotel, the staff is so friendly and tries to make its best for your pleasure...
It's a good hotel, clear, the staff was friendly, but they didn't speak English, so it's a little difficult to do a conversation. Private bedroom, tv, towers. The neighborhood is quite and relax and near metro station.
I think a big problem was about localization. It's so far from the most important places and we spend nearly 40 minutes to arrived.
The staff were really welcoming the whole trip and genuinely helpful with everything we needed. It's well located to Michael Bizot tube station were you can take the train straight to the central. Its also located on a main street witch has everything a person will need. Less then an hour walk from the famous Bastille.
the staff was very helpful
the shower room was not hygienic!
I liked: 1) Price - 65 euros is cheap in Paris 2) Location / neighbourhood: this is where the real Parisians live with nice diversity, great market, and no tourists. 3) quiet - hotel is just far enough from main street that no traffic can be heard
Though I did not mind them, the following will give pause to the average traveller: 1) no ensuite toilet/shower 2) room so spartan that it looked more like a jail cell than a room - especially the bed. 3) floor was a horror show - worn out carpet and burned/warped linoleum. Repeat I did not mind any of the above and management told me that major renovations are in the works. Will that mean a higher price?
